Artist visits Jumbo to film TV series
Accomplished artist David Downes visited Jumbo to get inspiration for to his latest paintings and to film a tv series.
A crew making a film about his work accompanied David Downes on a tour of Jumbo. He later spent time at the firstsite gallery working on images of Jumbo. The filming was part of a pilot for a tv series, Out of the Audinary, which will showcase extraordinary professional in music, art, sport, finance and other areas who are turning neurodivergent traits into strengths.
Based in Manningtree where he has a gallery, David is a landscape painter celebrated for his skies, seascapes and architectural drawings. An autistic man with a photographic memory, he is a graduate of The Royal College of Art and Vice President of the National Autistic Society and an Ambassador for Autism Anglia.
David said:
“I have loved seeing inside a building I have always admired. Jumbo is an incredible building, so iconic.”
