Major boost for Jumbo

The Jumbo Project has received £200,000 from the Garfield Weston Foundation, a family founded grant-maker which supports charities that make a positive difference within their communities.

The Garfield Weston Foundation, which helps charities operating in a wide variety of sectors across the UK, has given a major boost to The Jumbo Project.

Sophia Weston, Deputy Chair of the Garfield Weston Foundation, said:

We believe in supporting a diverse range of charities across the UK. From local community initiatives to large national projects, the common thread is that all our grantees make a real positive difference, improving lives and strengthening communities throughout the country. We are delighted to be supporting the work at North Essex Heritage.”

Simon Hall MBE DL, Chair of North Essex Heritage, said:

“We were thrilled to receive a grant of £200,000 from the Garfield Weston Foundation. They were clearly taken by Jumbo and our aspirations for it as a community asset and the contribution it will make to Colchester. Their application process, diligence and discussions were to the point, targeted and all one could hope for from a grant funder.”

The Jumbo Project is also supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, UK Government Funding, Historic England and Colchester City Council.
